Stainless Steel Version of a Popular Mixer
This stainless-steel drum roller mixer can homogenise materials that have separated during storage.
A global healthcare manufacturer needed a reliable way to ensure consistency of raw materials supplied to them in 200-litre drums. The machines needed to mix materials in sealed drums and achieve a homogenous mix.
The Challenge
When materials are stored in drums for long periods, natural separation can occur, causing issues with product quality if nothing is done to rectify it.
At the same time, opening the drum and mixing the contents by hand is labour-intensive and potentially dangerous if operators are exposed to fumes or powders.
The Solution
We designed a stainless-steel version of our Rotary Drum Mixer - the core design features, such as electric-tilting and electric-mixing, were maintained. The steel chassis was altered to use 304-grade stainless steel with a brushed polished finish. The machine can be easily cleaned, ensuring dirt and debris are not allowed to build up.
Key Features
- Allows products to be mixed inside sealed drums.
- Accepts 200–220 litre straight-sided steel and plastic drums.
- Smooth stainless-steel construction for easy cleaning.
- Tilting mechanism for easy loading of drums.
- Variable speed and timer controls for consistent results.
The Result
With the installation of two mixers, the customer achieved consistent material quality and reduced the need for manual mixing. The process became safer and more controlled, improving productivity and repeatability.
